The Start of a New Beginning

On April 17th, 2009, Ouachita Baptist University named Mark Price the new head men’s basketball coach. Price succeeds Charlie Schaef who resigned after eight years at Ouachita to become head coach of the men’s basketball program at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Price has served the past three years as assistant men's basketball coach at Furman University in Greenville, S.C. Furman is an NCAA Division I school in the Southern Conference. Prior to coaching at Furman, Price spent five years as an assistant coach at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He helped guide the Chargers to the 2002-03 Gulf South Conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2003 and 2006.
