Tigers Sign Two More

Ouachita Head Coach, Mark Price has announced the signing of two frontcourt players in the 2009 recruiting class. The first is 6’7 Junior Scott Day from Highlands Ranch, CO. Scott played the previous two seasons at Lamar Community College in Lamar, CO where he helped lead the Runnin’ Lopes to a Region IX title and a 5th place national finish at the National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas. During his sophomore season at Lamar, Scott averaged 6.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. “I am thrilled to have Scott Day in our program,” says Coach Price, “He has played for great coaches and has a high level of maturity. I truly believe Scott’s best basketball is still in front of him.” Scott also excels in the classroom. He finished at LCC with a 3.9 grade point average and plans to major in business at Ouachita. The Tigers also have signed another Arkansas high school product in 6’9 center Bryce Miracle from Bentonville. Bryce played for Coach Mike Nelson at Bentonville High School. After being injured during his junior season Bryce came on strong as a senior to average 11 points and 7 rebounds. Bryce also blocked 29 shots during the 08-09 season and was named honorable mention all-conference. “Bryce is a great fit in our 09 class,” says Price, “He’s a tall young man with a great skill set. He is from a great family and basketball background and those are certainly crucial elements in our recruiting.” Bryce is interested in pursuing a degree in education at OBU.
